Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of diets with silage from forage plants adapted to the semi-arid conditions on lamb quality and sensory attributes.
Fleming Sena Campos,Gleidson Giordano Pinto de Carvalho,E.M. Santos,Gherman Garcia Leal de Araújo,Glayciane Costa Gois,R.A. Rebouças,André Gustavo Leão,Stefanie Alvarenga Santos,Juliana Silva de Oliveira,Laudi Cunha Leite,Maria Leonor Garcia Melo Lopes de Araújo,Luís Gabriel Alves Cirne,R.R. Silva,Bruna Mara Aparecida de Carvalho +13 more
TL;DR: Based on the results for carcass weight and meat quality, old man saltbush and pornunça are better silages for finishing sheep.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary glycerin does not affect meat quality of Ile de France lambs
Thiago Henrique Borghi,Américo Garcia da Silva Sobrinho,Nivea Maria Brancacci Lopes Zeola,Fabiana Alves de Almeida,Luís Gabriel Alves Cirne,A. R. C. Lima +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the physicochemical and nutritional characteristics of three muscles of Ile de France lambs fed diets containing different levels of glycerin as an alternative to corn were evaluated, and three muscles were evaluated: triceps brachii, semimembranosus, and longissimus lumborum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of ensiling gliricidia with cassava on silage quality, growth performance, digestibility, ingestive behavior and carcass traits in lambs
A.P.D. Oliveira,Adriana Regina Bagaldo,Daniele Rebouças Santana Loures,Leilson Rocha Bezerra,Salete Alves de Moraes,S.M. Yamamoto,Fabiana Lana de Araújo,Luís Gabriel Alves Cirne,Ronaldo Lopes Oliveira +8 more
TL;DR: The pH, N-NH3, density, butyric and acetic acid contents and dry matter losses of the gliricidia silages decreased linearly, however, the weights of the commercial cuts and non-carcass components linearly increased.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physicochemical and sensory characteristics of meat from lambs fed diets containing mulberry hay
Luís Gabriel Alves Cirne,Américo Garcia da Silva Sobrinho,Emanuel Almeida de Oliveira,Rodrigo Desessards Jardim,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Gleidson Giordano Pinto de Carvalho,Soraya Maria Palma Luz Jaeger,Adriana Regina Bagaldo,Fabiana Alves de Almeida,Viviane Endo,Greicy Mitzi Bezerra Moreno,Roberta de Lima Valença +11 more
TL;DR: Inclusion of up to 25% mulberry hay in a concentrate-based diet did not compromise the physicochemical and sensory traits of the meat, indicating that this ingredient is as a good alternative to provide nutrients in the diet of feedlot lambs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Whole Corn Germ, a Source of Linoleic Acid, on Carcass Characteristics and Meat Quality of Feedlot Lambs
Camila de Oliveira Nascimento,Douglas dos Santos Pina,Luís Gabriel Alves Cirne,Stefanie Alvarenga Santos,Maria Leonor Garcia Melo Lopes de Araújo,Thomaz Cyro Guimarães de Carvalho Rodrigues,William P. Silva,Mateus N. S. Souza,Henry Daniel Ruiz Alba,Gleidson Giordano Pinto de Carvalho +9 more
TL;DR: The use of up to 120 g/kg DM of WCG in lamb diets does not affect the carcass characteristics, physicochemical composition, sensory attributes, and sensory attributes of the meat, and the best polyunsaturated fatty acid profile in lambs’ meat is obtained using 76.7 g/ kg DM ofWCG.
