Journal ArticleDOI

Study of matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors in breast cancer.

TL;DR: There were multiple and significant associations between the expression of the different MMPs and TIMPs evaluated and some parameters indicative of tumour aggressiveness, such as large tumour size, advanced tumour grade, high Nottinham prognostic index, negative oestrogen receptor status, peritumoural inflammation, desmoplastic reaction, and infiltrating tumoural edge.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of TLR3, TLR4 and TLR9 in breast carcinomas and their association with metastasis.

TL;DR: The expression levels of TLR3, TLR4 and TLR9 have clinical interest as indicators of tumor aggressiveness in breast cancer and may represent therapeutic targets in breastcancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Androgen receptor expresion in breast cancer: Relationship with clinicopathological characteristics of the tumors, prognosis, and expression of metalloproteases and their inhibitors

TL;DR: Although the functional role of AR in these neoplasms is still unclear, the results confirm that AR are commonly expressed in breast cancer, and are correlated with the expression of some MMPs and TIMP-2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression and prognostic significance of fibronectin and matrix metalloproteases in breast cancer metastasis.

TL;DR: The aims of this study were to investigate the expression and clinical relevance of FN in breast cancer, and to explore its relationship with the expression of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) and their inhibitors (TIMPs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional heterogeneity of mesenchymal stem cells from natural niches to culture conditions: implications for further clinical uses.

TL;DR: To attain a more personalized and precise medicine, a correct selection of MSC is mandatory, based on their functional potential, as well as the need to integrate all the existing information to achieve an optimal improvement of M SC features in the artificial niche.
