Materials Science and Engineering A

TL;DR: In this paper, the deformation characteristics of Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glass were investigated using both conical and Vickers diamond pyramidal indenters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation mechanism of nano titanium carbide on multi-walled carbon nanotube and influence of the nanocarbides on the load-bearing contribution of the nanotubes inner-walls in aluminum-matrix composites

TL;DR: In this paper, surface modification of carbon nanotubes with nanocrystalline titanium carbide (TiC) was performed through a pressureless-spark plasma sintering.
Journal ArticleDOI

Establishing a correlation between interfacial microstructures and corrosion initiation sites in Al/Cu joints by SEM–EDS and AFM–SKPFM

TL;DR: In this article, a lap joint of AA3003 and pure copper was produced by friction stir welding and the induced interfaces were investigated, and it was observed that the Al-rich regions proximate the dispersed Cu particles and Cu-Al intermetallics were most susceptible to corrosion attack initiation due to a galvanic driving force between these surface constituents.
Journal Article

Microstructural and mechanical properties of friction stir welded Cu–30Zn brass alloy at various feed speeds: Influence of stir bands

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of various feed speeds on microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded Cu-30Zn brass alloy was investigated, and the results showed that the grain size profile was independent of feed speed and the hardness values decreased by increase in feed speed.
