High-temperature oxidation and hot corrosion of Cr2AlC
TL;DR: In this article, high-temperature oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of Cr2AlC were investigated at 800-1300 degrees C in air, which is 400 degrees C higher than other ternary transition metal aluminum carbides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructural characterization of layered ternary Ti2AlC
TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution imaging reveals that the stacking sequence of Ti and Al atoms along the [0 0 0 1]Ti2AlC direction is ABABAB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and microstructure of layered-ternary Ti2AlN ceramic
TL;DR: In this article, a fully dense and single-phase Ti 2 AlN ceramic was successfully synthesized by a hot-pressing method using Ti, TiN and Al as starting materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural characterization of a new layered-ternary Ta4AlC3 ceramic
TL;DR: In this paper, a new layered ternary carbide, Bulk Ta4AlC3, was synthesized and characterized using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and Z-contrast scanning transmission electron microscope, and the experimental crystal structural parameters agreed well with the theoretical values obtained using density functional calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of water vapor on the oxidation behavior of Ti3AlC2 and Ti2AlC
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of water vapor on the oxidation of Ti3AlC2 and Ti2AlC (TACs) was investigated at 500-1200 degrees C in controlled humidity atmospheres.
