Calf Crystallin Synthesis in Frog Cells: The Translation of Lens-Cell 14S RNA in Oocytes

TL;DR: In this paper, 14S RNA isolated from calf-lens polyribosomes was injected into oocytes of the frog Xenopus laevis, and it was concluded that when injected into a living frog oocyte, the RNA from lens tissue is reasonably stable and has the properties of an αA2 crystallin messenger.
Journal ArticleDOI

Further studies on the ribonuclease inhibitor from rat liver: Stability and other properties

TL;DR: The enzyme-inhibitor complex is formed instantaneously and is strongly dependent on pH and Mg 2+ concentration, and the pH optimum of the inhibitor coincides with the optimal pH value of pancreatic ribonuclease.
Journal ArticleDOI

High purification of the RNase inhibitor from rat liver by affinity chromatography.

TL;DR: A highly purified RNase inhibitor from rat liver can be obtained by chromatography on columns loaded with carboxymethyl cellulose-RNase and is now available for the preparation of undegraded polyribosomes and ribosomal subunits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of lens protein in vitro V. Isolation of messenger‐like RNA from lens by high resolution zonal centrifugation

TL;DR: A high resolution zonal centrifugation technique is described which allows the isolation of two species of lens messengers differing by a number of criteria from the bulk of ribosomal RNA and tRNA.
