Journal ArticleDOI
Bioresorbable vascular scaffolds versus everolimus-eluting metallic stents in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction: 5-year results of the BVS-EXAMINATION study.
Salvatore Brugaletta,Tommaso Gori,Petr Tousek,Josep Gomez-Lara,Eduardo Pinar,Luis Ortega-Paz,Eberhard Schulz,Viktor Kočka,Thomas Münzel,Angel Cequier,Andrea Buono,Patrick W. Serruys,Manel Sabaté +12 more
TL;DR: Five-year event risk was higher with BRS vs EES in STEMI, suggesting that the probability of obtaining favorable results at very long-term follow-up is low, and optical coherence tomography analysis showed high incidence of neo-atherosclerosis in BRS group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality difference of neointima following the implantation of everolimus-eluting bioresorbable scaffolds and metallic stents in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction: quantitative assessments by light intensity, light attenuation, and backscatter on optical coherence tomography in the TROFI II trial.
Yohei Sotomi,Yoshinobu Onuma,Shengnan Liu,Taku Asano,Jeroen Eggermont,Yuki Katagiri,Rafael Cavalcante,Robbert J. de Winter,Joanna J. Wykrzykowska,Salvatore Brugaletta,Lorenz Räber,Manel Sabaté,Stephan Windecker,Jouke Dijkstra,Patrick W. Serruys +14 more
TL;DR: The present OFDI comparison suggested that tissue maturation was comparable but lipidic change of neointima was less prominent after BVS than after CoCr-EES implantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thrombocytopenia after transcatheter aortic valve implantation. A comparison between balloon-expandable and self-expanding valves.
Marco Hernández-Enríquez,Ander Regueiro,Rafael Romaguera,Rut Andrea,Joan Antoni Gómez-Hospital,Margarida Pujol-López,José L. Ferreiro-Gutiérrez,Salvatore Brugaletta,Gerard Roura,Xavier Freixa,Josep Gómez-Lara,Victoria Martin-Yuste,Montserrat Gracida,Angel Cequier,Manel Sabaté +14 more
TL;DR: The objectives of this study were to analyze the differences in DPC between BEVs or SEVs and their prognostic implications in clinical outcomes and to comparison between balloon‐expandable and self‐expanding valves regarding drop platelet count.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of the Frequency of Thrombocytopenia After Transfemoral Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation Between Balloon-Expandable and Self-Expanding Valves
Marco Hernández-Enríquez,Thomas Chollet,Vincent Bataille,Francisco Campelo-Parada,Nicolas Boudou,Frédéric Bouisset,Etienne Grunenwald,Jean Porterie,Xavier Freixa,Ander Regueiro,Manel Sabaté,Didier Carrié,Bertrand Marcheix,Thibault Lhermusier +13 more
TL;DR: In this cohort of patients, the use of BEV seems to be associated with a higher risk of drop platelet count after TAVI, and a DPC ≥30% was related with increased risk of life-threatening and/or major bleeding and death at 30 days.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overtime evaluation of the vascular HEALing process after everolimus-eluting stent implantation by optical coherence tomography. The HEAL-EES study.
Shuji Otsuki,Salvatore Brugaletta,Manel Sabaté,Yoshitaka Shiratori,Omar Gómez-Monterrosas,Giancarla Scalone,Sebastian Romero-Villafañe,Marco Hernández-Enríquez,Xavier Freixa,Victoria Martin-Yuste,Mónica Masotti +10 more
TL;DR: Healing process following EES implantation seems almost completed at 6-month follow-up, which may support the decision to shorten dual antiplatelet therapy.
