Journal ArticleDOI
Cellular consequences of copper complexes used to catalyze bioorthogonal click reactions.
David C. Kennedy,Craig S. McKay,Craig S. McKay,Marc C.B. Legault,Marc C.B. Legault,Dana C. Danielson,Dana C. Danielson,Jessie A. Blake,Jessie A. Blake,Adrian F. Pegoraro,Albert Stolow,Zoltán Mester,John Paul Pezacki,John Paul Pezacki +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that under conditions where other copper complexes kill human hepatoma cells, Cu(I)-L-histidine is an effective catalyst for CuAAC labeling of live cells following metabolic incorporation of an alkyne-labeled sugar into glycosylated proteins expressed on the cell surface.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activity-based protein profiling of host–virus interactions
David R. Blais,Neda Nasheri,Neda Nasheri,Craig S. McKay,Craig S. McKay,Marc C.B. Legault,Marc C.B. Legault,John Paul Pezacki,John Paul Pezacki +8 more
TL;DR: Recent advances and trends involving the use of activity-based protein profiling methods in understanding host–virus interactions and in identifying novel targets for diagnostic and therapeutic applications are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and bioorthogonal coupling chemistry of a novel cyclopentenone-containing unnatural tyrosine analogue.
Gianni R. Lorello,Gianni R. Lorello,Marc C.B. Legault,Marc C.B. Legault,Bojana Rakic,Bojana Rakic,Kathrine Bisgaard,John Paul Pezacki,John Paul Pezacki +8 more
TL;DR: The synthesis of a novel amino acid with orthogonal functionality to the natural amino acid side chains is reported, establishing that this amino acid analogue can undergo cycloaddition reactions in aqueous media with in situ generated nitrones and establishing a novel strategy for rapid, water compatible bioconjugation reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intramolecular cyclization and subsequent rearrangements of alkyne-tethered N-heterocyclic carbenes
Marc C.B. Legault,Marc C.B. Legault,Craig S. McKay,Craig S. McKay,Joseph Moran,Matthew A. Lafreniere,Matthew A. Lafreniere,John Paul Pezacki,John Paul Pezacki +8 more
TL;DR: Alkyne-tethered imidazole and 1,2,4-triazole-based N-heterocyclic carbene precursors have been prepared and studies of the intramolecular reactions of carbenes are performed as mentioned in this paper.
