Journal ArticleDOI
The concentrations and bioconcentration factors of copper and zinc in edible mushrooms.
TL;DR: It can be concluded that the consumption of these mushrooms cannot be considered a toxicological risk, and they provide an important nutritional requirement to the diet.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship of the toxicity of pesticide formulations and their commercial restrictions with the frequency of animal poisonings.
Mónica Martínez-Haro,Rafael Mateo,Raimon Guitart,Francisco Soler-Rodríguez,Marcos Pérez-López,Pedro María-Mojica,Antonio J. García-Fernández +6 more
TL;DR: Three highly toxic compounds are detected, more widely implicated in animal poisonings than other compounds of similar toxicity, which are inversely related with the lethal dose of specific formulations, but not with the amounts consumed in agriculture in Spain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of some factors in toxicity and accumulation of cadmium from edible wild macrofungi in nw Spain.
TL;DR: Cadmium content of 97 samples of some edible wild mushrooms, corresponding to 13 different species, was determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry and the hymenophore was always the morphological portion which contained the highest cadmium levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brain acetylcholinesterase, malondialdehyde and reduced glutathione as biomarkers of continuous exposure of tench, Tinca tinca, to carbofuran or deltamethrin
TL;DR: This study shows that changes in AChE brain activity in tench can be used as a biomarker of early pesticide exposition in environmental monitoring programs, whereas MDA and GSH levels could be more associated to long-term expositions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of heavy metal contamination of seawater and marine limpet, Patella vulgata L., from Northwest Spain.
TL;DR: The results showed a direct relationship between the heavy metal levels in seawater and the content in biological samples, especially those obtained from limpet soft tissues, directly related to the increasing importance of anthropogenic environmental contamination.
