Journal ArticleDOI
Investigating antibiotics, antibiotic resistance genes, and microbial contaminants in groundwater in relation to the proximity of urban areas.
Edina Szekeres,Cecilia Chiriac,Andreea Baricz,Tiberiu Szőke-Nagy,Ildiko Lung,Maria-Loredana Soran,Knut Rudi,Nicolae Dragoş,Cristian Coman +8 more
TL;DR: The results strongly support the proposal of this group of genes as an environmental tracer of human impact and several emerging contaminants in groundwater habitats that may be included in monitoring programs to enable further regulatory and protection measures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abundance of antibiotics, antibiotic resistance genes and bacterial community composition in wastewater effluents from different Romanian hospitals.
Edina Szekeres,Andreea Baricz,Cecilia Chiriac,Anca Farkas,Ocsana Opriş,Maria-Loredana Soran,Adrian-Ştefan Andrei,Knut Rudi,José Luis Balcázar,Nicolae Dragoş,Cristian Coman +10 more
TL;DR: This study quantified for the first time the abundance of antibiotics and ARGs in wastewater effluents from different Romanian hospitals, finding that hospital wastewaters may contribute to the spread of these emerging pollutants in the receiving environments.
Journal Article
New polypyrrole-multiwall carbon nanotubes hybrid materials
Rodica Turcu,Al. Darabont,Alexandrina Nan,N. Aldea,D. Macovei,Doina Bica,Ladislau Vekas,Ovidiu Pana,Maria-Loredana Soran,Antal A. Koós,László P. Biró +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and characterization of new hybrid materials based on conducting polypyrrole (PPY) and multi wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Removal of antibiotics from aqueous solutions by green synthesized magnetite nanoparticles with selected agro-waste extracts
Manuela Stan,Ildiko Lung,Maria-Loredana Soran,Cristian Leostean,Adriana Florina Popa,Maria Stefan,Mihaela D. Lazar,Ocsana Opriş,Teofil-Danut Silipas,Alin Sebastian Porav +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, three types of green synthesized magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs) were used for the removal of a mixture of seven antibiotics, namely piperacillin (PIP), tazobactam (TAZ), sulfamethoxazole (SUL), tetracycline (TET), trimethoprim (TRI), ampicillin (AMP) and erythromycin (ERY) from aqueous media.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of CNT-COOH/MnO2/Fe3O4 nanocomposite for ibuprofen and paracetamol removal from aqueous solutions.
Ildiko Lung,Maria-Loredana Soran,Adina Stegarescu,Ocsana Opriş,Simona Gutoiu,Cristian Leostean,Mihaela D. Lazar,Irina Kacso,Teofil-Danut Silipas,Alin Sebastian Porav +9 more
TL;DR: The synthetized nanocomposite can be a suitable new absorbent for ibuprofen and paracetamol removal from aqueous solutions due to its high adsorbing capacity and it can be separated by an external magnetic field.
