Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of liver disease in cystic fibrosis: a longitudinal study
Thierry Lamireau,Sylvie Monnereau,Steven R. Martin,Jacques-Edouard Marcotte,Maria Winnock,Fernando Alvarez +5 more
TL;DR: This study shows that CF related-liver disease occurs mainly in the first decade of life with a prevalence of 41% of patients at 12 years of age, and a history of meconium ileus and pancreatic insufficiency are predictive of liver disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of nodules in liver cirrhosis: spiral computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging? A prospective study of 88 nodules in 34 patients.
Victor de Ledinghen,David Laharie,Robin Lecesne,Brigitte Le Bail,Maria Winnock,Pierre-Henri Bernard,Jean Saric,Patrice Couzigou,Charles Balabaud,Paulette Bioulac-Sage,Jacques Drouillard +10 more
TL;DR: In patients with liver cirrhosis, MRI is more accurate than spiral computed tomography for the detection of liver nodules and dysplastic nodules, however, tumour size is always a restricting factor for these two techniques, which are unable to detect small HCC in more than 60% of cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
The French national prospective cohort of patients co-infected with HIV and HCV (ANRS CO13 HEPAVIH): Early findings, 2006-2010
Marc-Arthur Loko,Dominique Salmon,Patrizia Carrieri,Patrizia Carrieri,Maria Winnock,Marion Mora,Laurence Merchadou,Stéphanie Gillet,Elodie Pambrun,Jean Delaune,Marc-Antoine Valantin,Isabelle Poizot-Martin,Didier Neau,Philippe Bonnard,Eric Rosenthal,Karl Barange,Philippe Morlat,Philippe Morlat,Karine Lacombe,Anne Gervais,François Rouges,Alain Bicart See,Caroline Lascoux-Combe,Daniel Vittecoq,Cécile Goujard,Claudine Duvivier,Bruno Spire,Bruno Spire,Jacques Izopet,Philippe Sogni,Lawrence Serfaty,Yves Benhamou,Firouzé Bani-Sadr,François Dabis +33 more
TL;DR: The ANRS CO 13 HEPAVIH cohort is a nation-wide cohort using a large network of HIV treatment, infectious diseases and internal medicine clinics in France, and thus is highly representative of the French population living with these two viruses and in care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased incidence of HFE C282Y mutations in patients with iron overload and hepatocellular carcinoma developed in non-cirrhotic liver
Jean-Frédéric Blanc,Victor de Lédinghen,Pierre-Henri Bernard,Hubert de Verneuil,Maria Winnock,Brigitte Le Bail,J. Carles,Jean Saric,Charles Balabaud,Paulette Bioulac-Sage +9 more
TL;DR: In patients with HCC in NCL and iron overload, C282Y mutations are frequent (36.8% of cases) and significantly increased compared to HCCIn NCL without iron overload; these mutations are mostly heterozygous.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation and comparison of simple noninvasive indexes for predicting liver fibrosis in HIV-HCV-coinfected patients: ANRS CO3 Aquitaine cohort.
Marc-Arthur Loko,Laurent Castera,François Dabis,Brigitte Le Bail,Maria Winnock,Gaëlle Coureau,Paulette Bioulac-Sage,Victor de Ledinghen,Didier Neau +8 more
TL;DR: The use of these noninvasive indexes could save liver biopsies in up to 56–76% of cases for the prediction of severe fibrosis-cirrhosis, but given the high percentage of misclassified cases for significant fibrosis, such indexes do not appear currently suitable for use in clinical practice in HIV-HCV-coinfected patients.
