Journal ArticleDOI
Reciprocal Control of T Helper Cell and Dendritic Cell Differentiation
Marie-Clotilde Rissoan,Vassili Soumelis,Norimitsu Kadowaki,Géraldine Grouard,Francine Brière,Rene de Waal Malefyt,Yong-Jun Liu +6 more
TL;DR: A negative feedback loop from the mature T helper cells may selectively inhibit prolonged TH1 or TH2 responses by regulating survival of the appropriate dendritic cell subset.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Enigmatic Plasmacytoid T Cells Develop into Dendritic Cells with Interleukin (IL)-3 and CD40-Ligand
Géraldine Grouard,Marie-Clotilde Rissoan,Luis Filgueira,Isabelle Durand,Jacques Banchereau,Yong-Jun Liu +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that CD4+ CD11c−CD3− cells, isolated from tonsils, correspond to the so-called plasmacytoid T cells, an obscure cell type that has long been observed by pathologists within secondary lymphoid tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
TLR3 can directly trigger apoptosis in human cancer cells.
TL;DR: It is shown that synthetic dsRNA induces apoptosis of human breast cancer cells in a TLR3-dependent manner, which involves the molecular adaptor Toll/IL-1R domain-containing adapter inducing IFN-β and type I IFN autocrine signaling, but occurs independently of the ds RNA-activated kinase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measles Virus Suppresses Cell-mediated Immunity by Interfering with the Survival and Functions of Dendritic and T Cells
Isabelle Fugier-Vivier,Christine Servet-Delprat,Pierre Rivailler,Marie-Clotilde Rissoan,Yong-Jun Liu,Chantal Rabourdin-Combe +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that measles virus replicates weakly in the resting dendritic cells (DC) as in lipopolysaccharide-activated monocytes, but intensively in CD40-activated DC, suggesting that DC represent a major target of MV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interferon gamma inhibits interleukin 10 production by monocytes.
TL;DR: The present data indicate that IFN-gamma and IL-10 antagonize each other's production and function.
