Journal ArticleDOI

Normal and pathological gait: what we learn from Parkinson's disease

TL;DR: The brain networks involved in gait and balance control in animals and humans are highlighted with a particular focus on the relevant structures in the context of PD, such as the mesencephalic locomotor region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dopaminergic Function and Dopamine Transporter Binding Assessed With Positron Emission Tomography in Parkinson Disease

TL;DR: Uptake of (18)F-dopa may be up-regulated in early PD, suggesting a compensatory increase of dopamine synthesis in surviving dopaminergic terminals, and might be associated with the efficacy of neuroprotective treatments in PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Longitudinal ocular motor study in corticobasal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy

TL;DR: Consecutive EOG recordings help diagnose atypical CBD and PSP disorders earlier and when clinical “telltale signs” appeared and the clinical diagnosis was reviewed independent of EOG recording, the three patients with atypicals CBD features were diagnosed as having PSP although new or overlapping syndromes cannot be excluded.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy of pallidal stimulation in isolated dystonia: a systematic review and meta-analysis

TL;DR: Multivariate meta‐regression of absolute scores indicated that higher BFMDRS motor and disability scores before surgery, together with younger age at time of surgery, were the main factors associated with significantly better DBS outcomes at the latest follow‐up.
