Biodiesel production by methanolysis of waste lard from piglet roasting over quicklime

TL;DR: In this paper, waste lard from piglet roasting and quicklime (basically CaO) as a priceless fatty feedstock and a cheap solid catalyst were tested for the biodiesel production by methanolysis in a batch stirred reactor at moderate reaction temperatures (40-60°C) for the kinetic study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous sunflower oil methanolysis over quicklime in a packed-bed tubular reactor

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the process variables on the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) synthesis in a packed-bed tubular reactor of 60 cm height was studied at 60°C using methanol-to-oil molar ratios from 6:1 to 18:1 and hourly space velocities from 0.188 to 0.376.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic modeling and optimization of sunflower oil methanolysis catalyzed by spherically-shaped CaO/γ-Al2O3 catalyst

TL;DR: In this article, a three-parameter kinetic model describing the overall reaction with a variable mechanism was successfully applied to both batch and continuous reactions, and the process optimization was done using the response surface methodology combined with a central composite design.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic Modeling of Sunflower Oil Methanolysis Catalyzed by Calcium‐Based Catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a kinetic model for sunflower oil methanolysis catalyzed by CaO⋅ZnO was examined for several other calcium-based catalysts like neat CaO, quicklime and Ca(OH)2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Further study on kinetic modeling of sunflower oil methanolysis catalyzed by calcium- based catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a kinetic model for sunflower oil methanolysis catalyzed by CaO was examined for several other calcium-based catalysts like neat CaO, quicklime and Ca(OH)2.
