Laser-induced ultrafast demagnetization in the presence of a nanoscale magnetic domain network
Boris Vodungbo,Julien Gautier,Guillaume Lambert,Anna Barszczak Sardinha,Anna Barszczak Sardinha,M. Lozano,Stéphane Sebban,M. Ducousso,Willem Boutu,Kaigong Li,Bharati Tudu,Marina Tortarolo,Ranjit R. Hawaldar,Renaud Delaunay,Victor Lopez-Flores,Jacek Arabski,Christine Boeglin,Hamed Merdji,Philippe Zeitoun,Jan Lüning +19 more
TL;DR: Laser-induced ultrafast demagnetization in [Co/Pd](30) multilayer films is studied, which, for the first time, achieves a spatial resolution better than 100 nm by using femtosecond soft X-ray pulses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Irreversible transformation of ferromagnetic ordered stripe domains in single-shot infrared-pump/resonant-x-ray-scattering-probe experiments
Nicolas Bergeard,S. Schaffert,Victor Lopez-Flores,Nicolas Jaouen,Jan Geilhufe,Christian M. Günther,Michael Schneider,Catherine Graves,Catherine Graves,Tianhan Wang,Tianhan Wang,Benny Wu,Benny Wu,Andreas Scherz,Cédric Baumier,Cédric Baumier,Renaud Delaunay,Renaud Delaunay,Franck Fortuna,Marina Tortarolo,Marina Tortarolo,Bharati Tudu,Bharati Tudu,Oleg Krupin,Michael P. Minitti,Joe Robinson,William F. Schlotter,Joshua J. Turner,Jan Lüning,Jan Lüning,Stefan Eisebitt,Stefan Eisebitt,Christine Boeglin +32 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of a magnetic domain structure upon excitation by an intense, femtosecond infrared (IR) laser pulse has been investigated using single-shot based time-resolved resonant x-ray scattering at the xray free electron laser LCLS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pump−probe experiments at the TEMPO beamline using the low-α operation mode of Synchrotron SOLEIL
Mathieu G. Silly,Tom Ferté,Marie Agnes Tordeux,Debora Pierucci,Nathan Beaulieu,Christian Chauvet,Federico Pressacco,Fausto Sirotti,Horia Popescu,Victor Lopez-Flores,Marina Tortarolo,Maurizio Sacchi,Nicolas Jaouen,Philippe Hollander,Jean Paul Ricaud,Nicolas Bergeard,Christine Boeglin,Bharati Tudu,Renaud Delaunay,Jan Lüning,Gregory Malinowski,Michel Hehn,Cédric Baumier,Franck Fortuna,Damjan Krizmancic,L. Stebel,R. Sergo,Giuseppe Cautero +27 more
TL;DR: The capabilities in low-α mode of the experimental set-ups developed at the TEMPO beamline to perform pump-probe experiments with soft X-rays based on photoelectron or photon detection are presented and their respective advantages and limitations in the framework of high-time-resolution pump- probe experiments compared and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic imaging by Fourier transform holography using linearly polarized x-rays
Maurizio Sacchi,Horia Popescu,Nicolas Jaouen,Marina Tortarolo,Franck Fortuna,Renaud Delaunay,Carlo Spezzani +6 more
TL;DR: This work presents a method for imaging magnetic domains via x-ray Fourier transform holography at linearly polarized sources based on the separation of holographic mask and sample and on the Faraday rotation induced on the reference wave.
Journal ArticleDOI
Size effects on the phase coexistence in MnAs/GaAs(001) ribbons
Marina Tortarolo,Martin Sirena,Julian Milano,L. B. Steren,Franck Vidal,B. Rache Salles,Victor H. Etgens,M. Eddrief,Giancarlo Faini,L. I. Pietrasanta +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, size and orientation effects on the phase coexistence in MnAs/GaAs(001) microribbons were studied using magnetic force microscopy and the results were understood in terms of the anisotropic change in the lattice parameters at the magnetostructural transition.
