Comparison of the clinical course of Clostridium difficile infection in glutamate dehydrogenase-positive toxin-negative patients diagnosed by PCR to those with a positive toxin test

TL;DR: Toxin-positive patients were more likely to have severe-complicated forms of CDI and recurrences, and CDI-related complications may still occasionally occur among toxin-negative patients diagnosed by PCR, which stresses the need for individualized clinical evaluation.

Cytomegalovirus Myopericarditis and Hepatitis in an Immunocompetent Adult: Successful Treatment with Oral Valganciclovir

TL;DR: A previously healthy 32-year-old man with primary CMV infection is presented with a case of acute myopericarditis and hepatitis, assessed by serology and positive pp65 antigenemia and successfully treated with a course of oral valganciclovir therapy.
