Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of closure devices on vascular complication and mortality rates in TAVI procedures
Zisis Dimitriadis,Werner Scholtz,Jochen Börgermann,Marcus Wiemer,Cornelia Piper,Marios Vlachojannis,Jan Gummert,Dieter Horstkotte,Stephan Ensminger,Lothar Faber,Smita Scholtz +10 more
TL;DR: Although 30-day mortality showed no significant difference between the groups, the mortality over complete follow-up was significantly lower in the Proglide® group, and the survival rate over the entire follow- up period was significantly higher than that of the Prostar group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrical Myostimulation (EMS) Improves Glucose Metabolism and Oxygen Uptake in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients—Results from the EMS Study
Frank van Buuren,Dieter Horstkotte,Klaus Peter Mellwig,Andreas Fründ,Marios Vlachojannis,Nicola Bogunovic,Zisis Dimitriadis,Jürgen Vortherms,Reed Humphrey,Josef Niebauer +9 more
TL;DR: EMS can improve glucose metabolism and functional performance in T2DM patients and might help patients to overcome their sedentary lifestyle, and data suggest that EMS might emerge as a novel additional therapeutic mode of exercise training.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Routine Invasive Physiology at Time of Angiography in Patients With Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease on Reclassification of Revascularization Strategy: Results From the DEFINE REAL Study
Eric Van Belle,Robert J. Gil,Volker Klauss,Mohammed Balghith,Martijn Meuwissen,Jérôme Clerc,Bernhard Witzenbichler,Miha Cercek,Marios Vlachojannis,Irene Lang,Philippe Commeau,F Vincent,Luca Testa,Wojciech Wasek,Nicolas Debry,Stephan Kische,Gabriele Gabrielli,Gennaro Sardella +17 more
TL;DR: In patients with MVD and intermediate coronary lesions, invasive physiology at time of angiography reclassifies revascularization strategy in a large proportion of cases and investigation of more vessels is associated with higher reclassification rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of sheath diameter of different sheath types on vascular complications and mortality in transfemoral TAVI approaches using the Proglide closure device.
Zisis Dimitriadis,Werner Scholtz,Stephan Ensminger,Cornelia Piper,Thomas Bitter,Marcus Wiemer,Marios Vlachojannis,Jochen Börgermann,Lothar Faber,Dieter Horstkotte,Jan Gummert,Smita Scholtz +11 more
TL;DR: The difference in sheath diameter had no effect on either incidence or severity of vascular complications or mortality in transfemoral aortic valve implantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term follow-up of cardiac resynchronization therapy: mechanical resynchronization and reverse left ventricular remodeling are predictive for long-term transplant-free survival
Lothar Faber,Marios Vlachojannis,Olaf Oldenburg,Detlef Hering,Nicola Bogunovic,Dieter Horstkotte,Barbara Lamp +6 more
TL;DR: Mechanical resynchronization as defined by TDI translates into a significant survival benefit in CRT recipients.
