Journal ArticleDOI
Conjugated linoleic acids regulate triacylglycerol and cholesterol concentrations in macrophages/foam cells by the modulation of CD36 expression.
Ewa Stachowska,Magdalena Baskiewicz,Mariola Marchlewicz,Katarzyna Czupryńska,Mariusz Kaczmarczyk,Barbara Wiszniewska,Bogusław Machaliński,Dariusz Chlubek +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that both cis-9,trans-11 C 18 : 2 CLA and linoleic acid slightly elevated expression of CD36, whereas second isomer — trans-10,cis-12 CLA — did not, and proposed a similar mechanism for human macrophages/foam cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does the MTHFR A1298C Polymorphism Modulate the Cardiorespiratory Response to Training
Paweł Cięszczyk,Aleksandra Zarębska,Zbigniew Jastrzębski,Michał Sawczyn,Izabela Kozakiewicz-Drobnik,Agata Leońska-Duniec,Mariusz Kaczmarczyk,Agnieszka Maciejewska-Skrendo,Piotr Żmijewski,Grzegorz Trybek,Wojciech Smółka,Pilch J,Katarzyna Leźnicka,Ewelina Lulińska-Kuklik,Marek Sawczuk,Myosotis Massidda +15 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that individual differences in trainability are at least in part determined by the genetic component and MTHFR A1298C seems to be one of the many polymorphisms involved is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Iron, Hematological Parameters and Blood Plasma Lipid Profile in Vitamin D Supplemented and Non-Supplemented Young Soccer Players Subjected to High-Intensity Interval Training
Maria Jastrzębska,Mariusz Kaczmarczyk,Arturo Díaz Suárez,Guillermo Felipe López Sánchez,Joanna Jastrzębska,Lukasz Radziminski,Zbigniew Jastrzębski +6 more
TL;DR: A daily vitamin D supplement did not have any impact on alteration in hematological or lipid parameters in young soccer players in the course of high-intensity interval training.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low frequency haplotypes of E-selectin polymorphisms G2692A and C1901T give increased protection from coronary artery disease
J. Goracy,I. Goracy,Mariusz Kaczmarczyk,Miłosz Parczewski,Mirosław Brykczyński,Jeremy Clark,Krzysztof Safranow,Andrzej Ciechanowicz +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the link between the C1901T and G2692A E-selectin tagging SNPs and their haplotypes and the extent of coronary artery disease in Polish patients found Investigated variants correlated with the risk of coronary arteries disease development but not with the extentof coronary artery vascular changes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thymidylate Synthase Gene Polymorphism and Survival of Colorectal Cancer Patients Receiving Adjuvant 5-Fluorouracil
Violetta Sulżyc-Bielicka,Dariusz Bielicki,Agnieszka Bińczak-Kuleta,Mariusz Kaczmarczyk,Wiesława Pioch,Anna Machoy-Mokrzyńska,Andrzej Ciechanowicz,Magdalena Gołębiewska,Marek Drozdzik +8 more
TL;DR: The low TS was found to be an independent good prognostic factor for DFS 20 in the whole group as well as in the subgroup treated with chemotherapy, and patients with low TS did not show any differences in D FS 20 whether they were treated with adjuvant chemotherapy or not.
