Measurement and estimation of electrophilic reactivity for predictive toxicology.
Johannes A.H. Schwöbel,Yana K. Koleva,Steven J. Enoch,Fania Bajot,Mark Hewitt,Judith C. Madden,David W. Roberts,Terry W Schultz,Mark T. D. Cronin +8 more
TL;DR: Measurement and Estimation of Electrophilic Reactivity for Predictive Toxicology Johannes A. H. Schw€obel, Yana K. Koleva, Steven J. Enoch, Fania Bajot, Mark Hewitt, Judith C.Madden, and Mark T. Schultz.
Journal ArticleDOI
2-Heteroarylimino-5-benzylidene-4-thiazolidinones analogues of 2-thiazolylimino-5-benzylidene-4-thiazolidinones with antimicrobial activity: synthesis and structure-activity relationship.
TL;DR: It is worth noting that the replacement of the thiazole nucleus for the benzo[d]thiazole bicyclic system in the parent 2-(benzylidene-2-ylimino)thiazolidin-4-one leads to significant antifungal properties against both yeasts and moulds, properties not shown by the analogous 2-thiazolyl- and 2-benzo[ d]isothiazoly l-imino-5-
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal structures and spectroscopic behavior of monomeric, dimeric and polymeric copper(II) chloroacetate adducts with isonicotinamide, N-methylnicotinamide and N,N-diethylnicotinamide
Ján Moncol,Marcela Mudra,Peter Lönnecke,Mark Hewitt,Marian Valko,Harry Morris,Jozef Švorec,Milan Melnik,Milan Mazúr,Marian Koman +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures and spectroscopic properties of monomeric, dimeric and polymeric copper(II) chloroacetates with isonicotinamide (INA), N-methylnicotinamide(MNA), and N,N-diethylnicotine (DENA) were characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and IR spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Consensus QSAR models: do the benefits outweigh the complexity?
Mark Hewitt,Mark T. D. Cronin,Judith C. Madden,Philip H. Rowe,Clara Johnson,and Anrdrea Obi,Steven J. Enoch +6 more
TL;DR: The results highlight the ability of the genetic algorithm to develop predictive models from a large descriptor pool, however, the consensus models were shown to offer no significant improvements over single regression models, which are as statistically robust as the equivalent consensus models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmaceuticals in the environment: good practice in predicting acute ecotoxicological effects.
TL;DR: The importance of using expert judgement to ascertain whether or not use of a particular model is appropriate when the specific chemistry of a query compound is considered is demonstrated.
