Journal Article
The value of preoperative tests in the selection of blind patients for a permanent microelectronic implant.
D. Yanai,Rohit R. Lakhanpal,James D. Weiland,Manjunatha Mahadevappa,Gretchen B. Van Boemel,Gildo Y. Fujii,Robert J. Greenberg,Sean Caffey,Eugene de Juan,Mark S. Humayun +9 more
TL;DR: Preoperative testing, especially psychophysical and electrophysiological tests to assess light and electrically driven visual responses, can help in evaluating patients for suitability for receiving a permanent microelectronic retinal implant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selective labeling of retinal ganglion cells with calcium indicators by retrograde loading in vitro.
TL;DR: A retrograde loading technique is presented that makes it possible for the first time to rapidly load a calcium indicator in the majority of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in salamander retina, and then to observe physiological activity of these dye-loaded cells.
