Harvesting solar energy to power ocular implants
TL;DR: It is shown that a photovoltaic array embedded under the conjunctiva, with an area of 62mm2, when irradiated at 1mW/mm2 of sunlight, can generate 1.22mW at the battery charging circuit's output, suggesting the feasibility of powering ocular implants by scavenging solar energy from the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of rotational sutures for limited retinal translocation: a new technique for superior limited macular translocation.
TL;DR: Limited retinal translocation using rotational sutures provided a predictable amount of translocation in the planned direction and is expected to be useful for superior macular translocations in humans.

SAR in the human body by a wireless telemetry system for a retinal prosthesis
V. Singh,Arup Roy,Richard G. Castro,K. McClure,Robert J. Greenberg,James D. Weiland,Mark S. Humayun,Gianluca Lazzi +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the 3D explicit FDTD method in a D-H formulation similar to (D. Sullivan, 2000) has been used to calculate the electromagnetic fields in the human head due to the operation of the wireless link at 10 MHz of the proposed retinal prosthesis system.
