Intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and the mediating role of loneliness on psychosis

Philip Hyland,Thanos Karatzias,Mark Shevlin,Eoin McElroy,Menachem Ben-Ezra,Marylene Cloitre,Chris R. Brewin +6 more
TL;DR: There is little evidence that posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is more likely to follow traumatic events defined by Criterion A than non-Criterion A stressors, but the ICD-11 approach of providing clinical guidance rather than a formal definition offers a viable solution to some of the problems associated with the current and previous attempts to define traumatic exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Philip Hyland,Philip Hyland,Thanos Karatzias,Thanos Karatzias,Mark Shevlin,Marylene Cloitre,Marylene Cloitre +6 more
TL;DR: The current findings support the discriminant validity of CPTSD and BPD symptoms and highlight various phenomenological signatures of each construct as well as demonstrate how these constructs share important similarities in symptom composition and exogenous correlates.
