A sustainable food system for the European Union
Peter Jackson,Jeroen J. L. Candel,Anna Davies,Hugo de Vries,Cristiane Derani,Verica Dragović-Uzelac,Alf Håkon Hoel,Lotte Holm,Piergiuseppe Morone,Marianne Penker,Marta Guadalupe Rivera Ferre,Ruta Śpiewak,Catrien J.A.M. Termeer,John Thøgersen,Erik Mathijs +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors lay out the science on how to ensure future food security without treating people unfairly or leaving them behind, and the evidence shows that this kind of behaviour change needs to happen collectively, not just individually.

Peter Jackson,Marta Guadalupe Rivera Ferre,Jeroen J. L. Candel,Anna Davies,Cristiane Derani,Hugo de Vries,Verica Dragović-Uzelac,Alf Håkon Hoel,Lotte Holm,Erik Mathijs,Piergiuseppe Morone,Marianne Penker,Ruta Śpiewak,Katrien Termeer,John Thøgersen +14 more
TL;DR: The European Commission's Farm-to-Fork Strategy as mentioned in this paper addresses food as a commodity instead of a human right or common good, despite acknowledging food systems' complexities, the European Commission’s Farm to Fork Strategy still addresses food in a commodity model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interplays between changing biophysical and social dynamics under climate change: Implications for limits to sustainable adaptation in food systems
Rachel Bezner Kerr,Lars Otto Naess,Bridget Allen-O'Neil,Edmond Totin,Hanson Nyantakyi-Frimpong,Camilla Risvoll,Marta Guadalupe Rivera Ferre,Feliu López-i-Gelats,Siri Eriksen +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examine changing biophysical and social factors, with specific consideration of vulnerable groups, across four case studies (Ghana, Malawi, Norway and Spain) and find that biophysical limits and socio-political factors do not operate in isolation, but interact, with dynamic relationships determining the "space" or set of options for sustainable adaptation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synergies and trade-offs between climate change adaptation options and gender equality: a review of the global literature
Joyashree Roy,Anjal Prakash,Shreya Some,Chandni Singh,Rachel Bezner Kerr,Martina Angela Caretta,Cecilia Conde,Marta Guadalupe Rivera Ferre,Corinne J. Schuster-Wallace,Maria Cristina Tirado-von der Pahlen,Edmond Totin,Sumit Vij,Emily Baker,Graeme Dean,Emily Hillenbrand,Alison Irvine,Farjana Islam,Katriona McGlade,Hanson Nyantakyi-Frimpong,Federica Ravera,Alcade C Segnon,Divya Solomon,Indrakshi Tandon +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated if reported climate change adaptation actions are contributing to advancing the goal of gender equality (SDG 5) or not, and found more negative links than positive links.
