Journal ArticleDOI

Surface Expression of HLA-E, an Inhibitor of Natural Killer Cells, Enhanced by Human Cytomegalovirus gpUL40

TL;DR: It is shown that, independently of the transporter associated with antigen processing, gpUL40 can up-regulate expression of HLA-E, which protects targets from NK cell lysis, which is up-regulated by HCMV.
Journal ArticleDOI

The reticulocalbin gene maps to the WAGR region in human and to the Small eye Harwell deletion in mouse.

TL;DR: The localization of the gene encoding reticulocalbin, a Ca2+-binding protein of the endoplasmic reticulum, is described and shows that it is hemizygously deleted in WAGR individuals.
Book ChapterDOI

Adenovirus cancer gene therapy

TL;DR: Recombinant adenoviruses are now used extensively in experimental protocols for the treatment of infectious, genetic and neoplastic disease with an increasing number of studies exploring the potential additive or synergistic benefits of combining multiple transgenes.
