Journal ArticleDOI
Origin of Ferroelectric Phase in Undoped HfO2 Films Deposited by Sputtering
Terence Mittmann,Monica Materano,Patrick D. Lomenzo,Min Hyuk Park,Igor Stolichnov,Matteo Cavalieri,Chuanzhen Zhou,Ching-Chang Chung,Jacob L. Jones,Thomas Szyjka,Martina Müller,Martina Müller,Alfred Kersch,Thomas Mikolajick,Uwe Schroeder +14 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced ferrimagnetism in auxetic NiFe 2 O 4 in the crossover to the ultrathin-film limit
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of reduced dimensionality in the crossover from bulk-like to ultrathin films was investigated, and it was shown that the inverse spinel lattice of the ferrimagnetic oxide (NiFe) has a cationic coordination independent of the film thickness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical stability of the magnetic oxide EuO directly on silicon observed by hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy
Christian Caspers,Martina Müller,Alexander X. Gray,Alexander X. Gray,Alexander Kaiser,Alexander Kaiser,Alexander Kaiser,Andrei Gloskovskii,Charles S. Fadley,Charles S. Fadley,W. Drube,Claus M. Schneider +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed study of the electronic structure and chemical state of high-quality stoichiometric EuO and O-rich thin films grown directly on silicon without any buffer layer using hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic structure of EuO spin filter tunnel contacts directly on silicon
Christian Caspers,Martina Müller,Alexander X. Gray,Alexander X. Gray,Alexander Kaiser,Alexander Kaiser,Alexander Kaiser,Andrei Gloskovskii,Charles S. Fadley,Charles S. Fadley,W. Drube,Claus M. Schneider +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an electronic structure study of a magnetic oxide/ semiconductor model system, EuO on silicon, which is dedicated for efficient spin injection and spin detection in silicon-based spintronics devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrathin magnetic oxide EuO films on Si(001) using SiOx passivation—Controlled by hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy
Christian Caspers,Stanley Flade,Mihaela Gorgoi,Andrei Gloskovskii,Wolfgang Drube,Claus M. Schneider,Martina Müller +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a chemical and structural optimization of ultrathin magnetic oxide EuO films on silicon is presented. But the results are limited to a 4'nm-thin film and cannot be used for spin functional tunnel contacts in spin FETs.
