Journal ArticleDOI

Naringenin: a weakly estrogenic bioflavonoid that exhibits antiestrogenic activity

TL;DR: In vitro studies confirmed that naringenin is a weak estrogen that also exhibits partial antiestrogenic activity in the female rat uterus and MCF-7 human breast cancer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

2,3,7,8 Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin induction of cytochrome P4501A in cultured rat and human hepatocytes

TL;DR: It is reported here a novel observation that 2,3,7,8-tetracholorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) induced predominantly cytochrome P4501A1 (CYP1A1) in rat hepatocytes and predominantly CYP1A2 in human hepatocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of antiestrogens on the nuclear binding of the estrogen receptor.

TL;DR: Experiments were designed to determine whether or not various antiestrogens in direct competition with estradiol-17β (E2) would inhibit the translocation of the estrogen receptor complex from the cytoplasm to nuclei in rat uterine tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Androgen-induced nuclear accumulation of the estrogen receptor.

TL;DR: The results seem to indicate that the uterine testosterone receptor has no role in the androgen - induced nuclear uptake of the estrogen receptor, however, the non-steroidal antiestrogens inhibited the DHT - inducednuclear accumulation of theosterone receptor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of estrogens on IL-1β promoter activity

TL;DR: E 2 and some metabolites of E 2 synergize with LPS to markedly enhance IL-1 β promoter activity through ER mediated processes, and this effect was indeed mediated through the ER in a ligand dependent manner.
