TL;DR: It is shown that IP3 receptors play a structural tethering role in maintaining ER-mitochondrial contacts and, while each isoform can support contacts, type 2 IP3R is the most effective in delivering calcium to the mitochondria.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of CDCA pretreatment on pancreatic ductal HCO3 secretion was investigated, and the results showed that CDCA significantly reduced the rate of ATP depletion, mitochondrial injury, and cell death induced by 1 mM CDCA and completely prevented the inhibitory effect on acid-base transporters.

TL;DR: Results clearly demonstrate that UDCA suppresses the CDCA-induced pancreatic ductal injury by reducing apoptosis and mitochondrial damage and reduces the severity of CD CA-induced AP, which may represent a novel therapeutic target in the treatment of biliary AP.
