Development of climatic zones and passive solar design in Madagascar

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the first work for a climate classification of Madagascar island based on the meteorological data measured in different cities of this country and identified three major climatic zones are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluating tilted plane models for solar radiation using comprehensive testing procedures, at a southern hemisphere location

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the performances of four models for their relative merits in estimating diffuse solar radiation on tilted planes for a southern location (Reunion Island) and compare them with a more detailed experimental set-up.
Journal ArticleDOI

Short term solar radiation forecasting: Island versus continental sites

TL;DR: In this paper, three short-term forecasting procedures are applied to island locations in order to see how they perform in situations that are potentially more volatile than continental locations, and the results show that the island locations prove to be more difficult to forecast, as shown by larger forecast errors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of intraday probabilistic forecasting of solar irradiance using only endogenous data

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of various models that provide probabilistic forecasts of the solar irradiance within a very strict framework is presented, where the models selected use only endogenous inputs for generating the forecasts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Post-processing of Solar Irradiance Forecasts from WRF Model at Reunion Island☆

TL;DR: In this article, a model output statistics (MOS) method was used for improving the forecast of the solar irradiance from the weather research and forecasting (WRF) model.
