Journal ArticleDOI
Hemoprotein-dependent production of a neutrophil-activating factor from arachidonic acid.
John L. Wallace,K. P. Rioux,Webb McKnight,Lisa Carter,David Jourd'heuil,J. Meddings,Barbara J. Zimmerman,D. N. Granger,Matthew B. Grisham +8 more
TL;DR: The ability of hemoglobin to catalyze the production of a neutrophil-activating factor from arachidonic acid was examined and revealed that the immunoreactive and chemotactic substance had a retention time distinct from that of LTB4 and the hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanisms of oxidized chylomicron-induced leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion.
Hizir Kurtel,L. Liao,Matthew B. Grisham,Patrick Tso,Tak Yee Aw,D C Anderson,Masayuki Miyasaka,D. N. Granger +7 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that the increased plasma oxCM levels associated with ingestion of oxidized lipids may promote leukocyte adhesion through a mechanism that involves the superoxide anion, PAF, and adhesion receptors on leukocytes and endothelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modulation of leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and microvascular permeability by nitric oxide following ischemia-reperfusion
Journal ArticleDOI
Erratum: Interferon-γ and interleukin-10 reciprocally regulate endothelial junction integrity and barrier function (Microvascular Research (2001) 61:1 (130-143))
Tadayuki Oshima,F. S. Laroux,L. Coe,Zenichi Morise,Shigeyuki Kawachi,Philippe R. Bauer,Matthew B. Grisham,Robert D. Specian,Patsy R. Carter,Stephen R. Jennings,D. N. Granger,Takashi Joh,Jonathan Steven Alexander +12 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Fluorometric Techniques for the Detection of Nitric Oxide and Metabolites
TL;DR: This unit contains protocols for detection and quantification of NO from chemical reactions and from cellular systems, and of S‐nitrosothiols in chemical, biochemical, and cellular experiments.
