Journal ArticleDOI

Hemoprotein-dependent production of a neutrophil-activating factor from arachidonic acid.

TL;DR: The ability of hemoglobin to catalyze the production of a neutrophil-activating factor from arachidonic acid was examined and revealed that the immunoreactive and chemotactic substance had a retention time distinct from that of LTB4 and the hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanisms of oxidized chylomicron-induced leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the increased plasma oxCM levels associated with ingestion of oxidized lipids may promote leukocyte adhesion through a mechanism that involves the superoxide anion, PAF, and adhesion receptors on leukocytes and endothelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorometric Techniques for the Detection of Nitric Oxide and Metabolites

TL;DR: This unit contains protocols for detection and quantification of NO from chemical reactions and from cellular systems, and of S‐nitrosothiols in chemical, biochemical, and cellular experiments.
