Fiscal competition and the pattern of public spending
Michael Keen,Maurice Marchand +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a broadly familiar and reasonably rich model of fiscal competition in the presence of mobile capital, and established a systematic bias in public spending patterns: starting from the non-cooperative equilibrium, and holding tax rates constant, welfare would be improved by a coordinated reduction in the provision of local public inputs and a corresponding increase in the public provision of public public goods benefiting immobile consumers.
Journal ArticleDOI
A limiting dilution assay for quantifying Leishmania major in tissues of infected mice
TL;DR: Using the sensitive limiting dilution assay presently described, it was found that this unexpected exacerbative effect of L. major‐specific T‐cells on lesion development was accompanied by a substantial increase in the number of parasites in the lesions of the adoptively transferred mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of Mage Genes By Non-small-cell Lung Carcinomas
TL;DR: The proportion of tumors expressing MAGE‐1 suggests that lung tumor patients may constitute the largest group of patients potentially eligible for pilot studies involving MAGES‐1 immunization.
