Journal Article
Diagnosis and treatment of primary lymphedema. Consensus document of the International Union of Phlebology (IUP)-2013.
Byung-Boong Lee,Mauro Andrade,Pier Luigi Antignani,F. Boccardo,N Bunke,C. Campisi,R. Damstra,Mieke Flour,I. Forner-Cordero,Peter Gloviczki,James Laredo,Hugo Partsch,Neil Piller,S Michelini,Peter S. Mortimer,Eberhard Rabe,Stanley G. Rockson,A Scuderi,Győző Szolnoky,J L Villavicencio +19 more
TL;DR: Treatment in the maintenance phase should include compression garments, self-management, including self-massage, meticulous personal hygiene and skin care, in addition to lymphtransport-promoting excercises and activities, and, if desired, pneumatic compression therapy applied in the home.
Journal ArticleDOI
Segregation analyses and a genome-wide linkage search confirm genetic heterogeneity and suggest oligogenic inheritance in some Milroy congenital primary lymphedema families.
Catharine J. Holberg,Robert P. Erickson,Michael Bernas,Marlys H. Witte,Kimberly E. Fultz,Mauro Andrade,Charles L. Witte +6 more
TL;DR: The finding of linkage to multiple locations in the largest family studied by multipoint parametric mapping, suggests that Milroy congenital lymphedema may be oligogenic in this family.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trigger points: an anatomical substratum.
Flávia Emi Akamatsu,Bernardo Rodrigues Ayres,Samir Saleh,Flávio Hojaij,Mauro Andrade,Wu Tu Hsing,Alfredo Luiz Jacomo +6 more
TL;DR: Knowing the locations where the accessory nerve branches enter the muscle belly to reach the motor endplates and find myofascial trigger points is useful to achieve a better understanding of the anatomical correlation of MTrP and the physiopathology of these disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Jacqueline de Carvalho Martins,Suzana Sales de Aguiar,Erica Alves Nogueira Fabro,Rejane Medeiros Costa,Thiago Lemos,Vinicius Gienbinsky Guapyassú de Sá,Raphael Mello de Abreu,Mauro Andrade,Luiz Claudio Santos Thuler,Anke Bergmann +9 more
