Journal ArticleDOI
Gold-loaded nanoporous superparamagnetic nanocubes for catalytic signal amplification in detecting miRNA
Mostafa Kamal Masud,Mostafa Kamal Masud,Md. Nazmul Islam,Md. Hakimul Haque,Shunsuke Tanaka,Vinod Gopalan,Gursel Alici,Nam-Trung Nguyen,Alfred King-Yin Lam,Md. Shahriar A. Hossain,Md. Shahriar A. Hossain,Yusuke Yamauchi,Yusuke Yamauchi,Muhammad J. A. Shiddiky +13 more
TL;DR: The assay showed an excellent detection sensitivity down to 100 fM and specificity towards the analysis of miR-21 in cell lines and tissue samples derived from patients with oesophageal squamous-cell carcinoma (ESCC).
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of regional DNA methylation using DNA-graphene affinity interactions.
Md. Hakimul Haque,Vinod Gopalan,Sharda Yadav,Nazmul Islam,Ehsan Eftekhari,Qin Li,Laura G. Carrascosa,Nam-Trung Nguyen,Alfred King-Yin Lam,Muhammad J. A. Shiddiky +9 more
TL;DR: The assay is sensitive to distinguish methylated and unmethylated DNA sequences at single CpG resolution by differentiating changes in DNA methylation as low as 5% and has been used to detect methylation levels in a collection of DNA samples taken from oesophageal cancer tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and detection of newcastle disease virus from field outbreaks in broiler and layer chickens by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.
Md. Hakimul Haque,Muhammad Tofazzal Hossain,Md. Taohidul Islam,M. A. Zinnah,M. S. R. Khan,Mohammad Ashiqul Islam +5 more
TL;DR: The molecular method (RT-PCR) can be introduced for rapid and confirmatory detection of NDV from any form of outbreak of ND in the field level of Bangladesh.
Journal ArticleDOI
A PCR-free electrochemical method for messenger RNA detection in cancer tissue samples.
Md. Nazmul Islam,Vinod Gopalan,Md. Hakimul Haque,Mostafa Kamal Masud,Mostafa Kamal Masud,Md. Shahriar A. Hossain,Yusuke Yamauchi,Yusuke Yamauchi,Nam-Trung Nguyen,Alfred King-Yin Lam,Muhammad J. A. Shiddiky +10 more
TL;DR: An amplification-free electrochemical approach for the sensitive and selective detection of mRNA using a screen-printed gold electrode (SPE-Au) that circumvents the PCR amplification steps as well as simplifies the assay construction by avoiding multiple steps involved in conventional biosensing approaches of using recognition and transduction layers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sustainable Antibiotic-Free Broiler Meat Production: Current Trends, Challenges, and Possibilities in a Developing Country Perspective.
Md. Hakimul Haque,Subir Sarker,Md. Shariful Islam,Md. Aminul Islam,Md. Rezaul Karim,Mohammad Enamul Hoque Kayesh,Muhammad J. A. Shiddiky,M. Sawkat Anwer +7 more
TL;DR: The importance and current scenario of antibiotic use, prospects, and challenges in the production of sustainable antibiotic-free broiler meat are focused on, emphasizing broiler farming in the context of Bangladesh.
