Next generation digital backends for the GMRT

TL;DR: A comparison of the resources needed and performance achieved on FPGA and GPU based designs is presented, along with an extrapolation of these designs to a 30 station backend for the final GMRT system.

Performance Analysis Techniques for Real-time Broadband RFI Filtering System of uGMRT

TL;DR: In this paper , a real-time broadband RFI detection and filtering system is implemented as part of the uGMRT wideband signal processing backend to mitigate the interference at observing frequencies less than 800 MHz.

Progression of digital-receiver architecture: From MWA to SKA1-Low, and beyond

TL;DR: In this article , the authors present a review of the progression of digital-receiver architecture from the Murchison Widefield Array (precursor) to the SKA1-low, highlighting the technological advances in analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and central processing unit-graphics processing unit (CPU-GPU) hybrid platforms around which complex digital signal processing systems implement efficient channelizers, beamformers and correlators.
