Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of recombinant ApoA-I Milano on coronary atherosclerosis in patients with acute coronary syndromes: a randomized controlled trial.

TL;DR: A recombinant ApoA-I Milano/phospholipid complex administered intravenously for 5 doses at weekly intervals produced significant regression of coronary atherosclerosis as measured by IVUS, and results require confirmation in larger clinical trials with morbidity and mortality end points.
Journal ArticleDOI

Receptor for AGE (RAGE) Mediates Neointimal Formation in Response to Arterial Injury

TL;DR: Findings indicate that RAGE/ligand interaction plays a key role in neointimal formation after vascular injury irrespective of diabetes status and suggest a novel target to minimize neointedimal hyperplasia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relation of matrix-metalloproteinase 3 found in coronary lesion samples retrieved by directional coronary atherectomy to intravascular ultrasound observations on coronary remodeling.

TL;DR: Increased cell-associated MMP-3 staining was associated with positive arterial remodeling in the coronary lesions of 35 patients, and was significantly more common in lesions with positive than negative and/or intermediate remodeling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Successful treatment of distal coronary guidewire-induced perforation with balloon catheter delivery of intracoronary thrombin.

TL;DR: Two cases of guidewire‐related distal coronary artery perforation are reported, successfully treated using a new technique using localized, distal intracoronary thrombin injection during prolonged low‐pressure balloon inflation.
