Journal Article

Decreased very low density lipoprotein fluidity in familial hypercholesterolemia.

TL;DR: Analysis of the constituents of the various lipoproteins suggested that the large difference in the fluidity between hypercholesterolemic and normal VLDL patients might be due to increased V LDL cholesterol/triglyceride, cholesterol/protein and cholesterol/phospholipid ratios.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary licorice-root antioxidants reduce heart diseases

TL;DR: This articles is about how dietary licorice acts as an antioxidant and reduces heart diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Platelet adhesion in hyperlipidemic and hypertensive patients.

TL;DR: In hypertensive patients, platelet adhesion was significantly elevated, but remarkably reduced by beta-blocker drugs, but this effect was found to take a longer time than that required for significant blood pressure reduction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pro-atherogenic and pro-oxidant crosstalk between adipocytes and macrophages

TL;DR: It is revealed, for the first time, that paracrine interactions between adipocytes and macrophages result in oxidative stress and lipids metabolic alterations in both cells, toward increased atherogenicity which can be reversed by phenolic antioxidants.
