TL;DR: In this article, a single portal vein infusion of a recombinant adeno-associated viral vector (rAAV) expressing canine Factor IX (F.IX) resulted in long-term expression of therapeutic levels of F.IX in dogs with severe hemophilia B.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transluminal placement of endovascular stent-grafts for the treatment of descending thoracic aortic aneurysms.
TL;DR: These preliminary results demonstrate that endovascular stent-graft repair is safe in highly selected patients with descending thoracic aortic aneurysms and will, however, require careful long-term evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endovascular stent-graft placement for the treatment of acute aortic dissection.
Michael D. Dake,Noriyuki Kato,R. Scott Mitchell,Charles P. Semba,Mahmood K. Razavi,Takatsugu Shimono,Tadanori Hirano,Kan Takeda,Isao Yada,D. Craig Miller +9 more
TL;DR: Stent-graft coverage of the primary entry tear may be a promising new treatment for selected patients with acute aortic dissection and requires further evaluation, however, to assess its therapeutic potential fully.
Patent
Bifurcated endoluminal prosthesis
TL;DR: An introduction for delivering into the vasculature a straight or bifurcated stent or prosthesis is given in this paper, where the stents also include barbs, fabric covering and radiopaque markers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vascular endothelial growth factor enhances atherosclerotic plaque progression.
Francesca L. Celletti,Jacob M. Waugh,Philippe Amabile,Andrea Brendolan,Paul R. Hilfiker,Michael D. Dake +5 more
TL;DR: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) significantly increased macrophage levels in bone marrow and peripheral blood and increased plaque area 5-, 14- and 4-fold compared with controls at weeks 1, 2 and 3, respectively.
