The density of mid-sized Kuiper belt objects from ALMA thermal observations
Michael E. Brown,Bryan J. Butler +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used thermal observations of four objects with satellites to explore the improvements possible with millimeter data and found that the true uncertainties on the sizes of outer solar system objects measured with radiometry are likely larger than those previously published.

TL;DR: The Terrestrial Planet Finder Coronagraph (TPF-C) as mentioned in this paper is an internal coronagraph space mission capable of detecting and characterizing Earth-like planets and planetary systems at visible wavelengths around nearby stars, using an existing launch vehicle.

Sunshine,Harold A. Weaver,Ian Wong +24 more
TL;DR: Lucy as mentioned in this paper is a NASA Discovery-class mission to send a highly capable and robust spacecraft to investigate seven primitive asteroids near both the L4 and L5 Lagrange points with Jupiter: the Jupiter Trojan asteroids.
Dissertation
The rapid load testing of piles in fine grained soils.
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the rate of loading on the pile's capacity was quantified using constant rate of penetration tests at different pile penetration rates, and a new Statnamic analysis method incorporating ratedependant soil behaviour was developed.

CCD testing and characterization for dark energy survey
Juan Estrada,T. M. C. Abbott,B. Angstadt,L. Buckley-Geer,Michael E. Brown,J. Campa,Laia Cardiel,H. Cease,B. Flaugher,Kyle S. Dawson,G. Derylo,H. T. Diehl,S. Gruenendahl,I. Karliner,W. Merrit,Peter L. Moore,Todd Moore,Natalie A. Roe,V. Scarpine,R. W. Schmidt,M. Schubnel,Theresa Shaw,W. Stuermer,Jon J Thaler +23 more
TL;DR: A description of the plans and infrastructure developed for CCD testing and characterization for the DES focal plane detectors is presented in this article, where examples of the results obtained are shown and discussed in the context of the device requirements for the survey instrument.
