TL;DR: The lack of genetic cohesion between individuals from a single P. repens tree suggests that K. proteae dispersal does not primarily occur over short distances via mites as hypothesized, but rather that long-distance dispersal by beetles plays an important part in the biology of these intriguing fungi.

Evaluation of fungicides for the control of Botryosphaeria protearum on Protea magnifica in the Western Cape Province of South Africa
TL;DR: A range of fungicides was tested in vitro for their effect on mycelial inhibition and in field trials, a 25–85% reduction in the occurrence of stem cankers caused by Botryosphaeria protearum was achieved if fungicides were applied or sanitation pruning was implemented.
