Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular cloning and functional characterization of a human VIP receptor from SUP-T1 lymphoblasts.

TL;DR: Cloned and sequenced a cDNA isolated from a human SUP-T1 lymphoblast cell line library encoded a 457 amino acids protein having 87% identity with the rat PACAP type II, VIP2 receptor, suggesting that helodermin and PACAP-38 had a higher intrinsic activity than VIP andPACAP-27.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of polymerase chain reaction methods for reliable and easy detection of congenital Trypanosoma cruzi infection.

TL;DR: The reliability of the PCR test was demonstrated, since all the 18 blood samples from newborns with congenital T. cruzi infection were positive, whereas the remaining samples (30 from control newborns of uninfected mothers and 262 of 263 from babies born to infected mothers) were negative.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relative quantitative analysis of glucagon receptor mRNA in rat tissues

TL;DR: RT-PCR data confirmed the presence of glucagon receptor mRNA in liver, kidney, heart, adrenal glands and adipose tissue, and allowed the detection of a very low amount of glucagons receptors mRNA in the stomach, the duodenum and brain but not in the lung.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cloning of a splice variant of the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) type I receptor

TL;DR: Using RT-PCR, it is demonstrated the coexistence of a second form of mRNA, without this added insert, in DNAse-pretreated RNAs from both AR 4-2J cells and normal rat brain, indicating that common alternative splicing provokes the diversification of PACAP type I receptors into PACAPR1A (unspliced) and PAC APR1B (spliced) variants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trypanosoma cruzi: Sequence analysis of the variable region of kinetoplast minicircles

TL;DR: Analysis of repetitive sequences suggested a common ancestral origin of the kDNA, and the editing mechanism that occurs in kinetoplastidae is discussed, showed that all sequences were unique, without any similarity between them and T. cruzi sequences.
