Journal ArticleDOI
Protective action of ethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis L. in gastric ulcer prevention induced by ethanol in rats.
Guilherme Pires Amaral,Nelson Rodrigues de Carvalho,Rômulo Pillon Barcelos,Fernando Dobrachinski,Rafael de Lima Portella,Michele Hinerasky da Silva,Thiago Henrique Lugokenski,Glaecir Roseni Mundstock Dias,Sônia Cristina Almeida da Luz,Aline Augusti Boligon,Margareth Linde Athayde,Marcos A. Villetti,Félix Alexandre Antunes Soares,Roselei Fachinetto +13 more
TL;DR: This study evaluated the ethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis L. (eeRo) of rosemary to clarify the mechanism involved in the preventive action of the eeRo in gastric ulcers and exhibited significant antioxidant, vasodilator and antiinflammatory properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute Brain Damage Induced by Acetaminophen in Mice: Effect of Diphenyl Diselenide on Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Dysfunction
Michele Hinerasky da Silva,Edovando José Flores da Rosa,Nelson Rodrigues de Carvalho,Fernando Dobrachinski,João Rocha,José L. Mauriz,Javier González-Gallego,Félix Alexandre Antunes Soares +7 more
TL;DR: Treatment with (PhSe)2 after APAP administration can reverse the neurotoxicity caused by a single toxic dose of APAP, and the neuroprotective effect of (Ph Se)2 is likely associated with its antioxidant properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Therapeutic Approach: Diphenyl Diselenide Reduces Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Acetaminophen- Induced Acute Liver Failure
Nelson Rodrigues de Carvalho,Edovando José Flores da Rosa,Michele Hinerasky da Silva,Cintia C. Tassi,Cristiane Lenz Dalla Corte,Sara Carbajo-Pescador,José L. Mauriz,Javier González-Gallego,Félix Alexandre Antunes Soares +8 more
TL;DR: (PhSe)2 provided a significant improvement to the mitochondrial redox homeostasis and the mitochondrial bioenergetics dysfunction caused by membrane permeability transition in the hepatotoxicity APAP-induced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroprotective effect of diphenyl diselenide in a experimental stroke model: maintenance of redox system in mitochondria of brain regions.
Fernando Dobrachinski,Michele Hinerasky da Silva,Cintia C. Tassi,Nelson Rodrigues de Carvalho,Glaecir Roseni Mundstock Dias,Ronaldo Medeiros Golombieski,Élgion Lúcio da Silva Loreto,João Rocha,Michele Rechia Fighera,Félix Alexandre Antunes Soares +9 more
TL;DR: The results revealed that all treatments with (PhSe)2 significantly reduced the mitochondrial damage induced by I/R, suggesting that neuroprotective properties of (Ph Se)2 may be attributed to the maintenance of mitochondrial redox balance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clomipramine Treatment and Repeated Restraint Stress Alter Parameters of Oxidative Stress in Brain Regions of Male Rats
Rodrigo de Souza Balk,Rodrigo de Souza Balk,Jessika Cristina Bridi,Rafael de Lima Portella,Nelson Rodrigues de Carvalho,Fernando Dobrachinski,Michele Hinerasky da Silva,Guilherme Pires Amaral,Glaecir Roseni Mundstock Dias,Nilda de Vargas Barbosa,Félix Alexandre Antunes Soares +10 more
TL;DR: Results indicated that clomipramine may have deleterious effects on the central nervous system especially when associated with repeated restraint stress and chronically administered in non therapeutic levels.
