Journal ArticleDOI
Validation and reproducibility of cardiovascular 4D-flow MRI from two vendors using 2 × 2 parallel imaging acceleration in pulsatile flow phantom and in vivo with and without respiratory gating.
Jelena Bock,Johannes Töger,Sebastian Bidhult,Karin Markenroth Bloch,Karin Markenroth Bloch,Per M. Arvidsson,Mikael Kanski,Håkan Arheden,Frederik Testud,Andreas Greiser,Einar Heiberg,Marcus Carlsson +11 more
TL;DR: 4D-flow with the Aera prototype sequence with a clinically acceptable acquisition time (<10 min) showed acceptable bias in healthy controls to be considered for clinical use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Importance of standardizing timing of hematocrit measurement when using cardiovascular magnetic resonance to calculate myocardial extracellular volume (ECV) based on pre- and post-contrast T1 mapping
Henrik Engblom,Mikael Kanski,Sascha Kopic,David Nordlund,Christos G. Xanthis,Robert Jablonowski,Einar Heiberg,Anthony H. Aletras,Anthony H. Aletras,Marcus Carlsson,Håkan Arheden +10 more
TL;DR: Variability in CMR-derived myocardial ECV can be reduced by standardizing the timing of Hct measurement relative to the CMR examination, and a standardized acquisition of blood sample for Hct after the C MR examination, when the patient is still in supine position would increase the precision of ECV measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring extracellular volume fraction by MRI: First verification of values given by clinical sequences.
David Nordlund,Christos G. Xanthis,Christos G. Xanthis,Sebastian Bidhult,Robert Jablonowski,Mikael Kanski,Sascha Kopic,Marcus Carlsson,Henrik Engblom,Anthony H. Aletras,Anthony H. Aletras,Håkan Arheden +11 more
TL;DR: To verify MR measurements of myocardial extracellular volume fraction (ECV) based on clinically applicable T1‐mapping sequences against ECV measurements by radioisotope tracer in pigs and to relate the results to those obtained in volunteers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased pulmonary blood volume variation in patients with heart failure compared to healthy controls; a non-invasive, quantitative measure of heart failure
Mariam Al-Mashat,Jonas Jögi,Marcus Carlsson,Rasmus Borgquist,Ellen Ostenfeld,Martin Magnusson,Erasmus Bachus,Göran Rådegran,Håkan Arheden,Mikael Kanski +9 more
TL;DR: Evaluated if PBVV differs in patients with heart failure compared to healthy controls and investigate the mechanisms behind thePBVV, which found PBVVSV was higher in patients compared to controls.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart filling exceeds emptying during late ventricular systole in patients with systolic heart failure and healthy subjects - a cardiac MRI study.
TL;DR: The aims were to explain the mechanism of the late‐systolic net inflow to the heart and determine whether thisNet inflow is affected by increased cardiac output or systolic heart failure.
