Journal ArticleDOI
Stimulating effect of erythropoietin on the release of dopamine and acetylcholine from the rat brain slice.
Masahiro Yamamoto,Kunio Koshimura,Mikiko Kawaguchi,Motoi Sohmiya,Yoshio Murakami,Yuzuru Kato +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that EPO stimulates dopamine- and acetylcholine-release without affecting NO production, and is not affected by NO production in the hippocampus or the striatum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of reduced potassium nitrate concentrations in nutrient solution on the growth, yield and fruit quality of melon in hydroponics
Toshiki Asao,Md. Asaduzzaman,Md. Asaduzzaman,Md. Asaduzzaman,Md. Fuad Mondal,Md. Fuad Mondal,Mayumi Tokura,Fumihiko Adachi,Makoto Ueno,Mikiko Kawaguchi,Mikiko Kawaguchi,Shozo Yano,Takuya Ban +12 more
TL;DR: It was evident that fruit K content was not decreased expectedly even after limiting the K level to zero, and a general trend of decreasing K content in fruit was observed with the decrease of KNO3 concentration in nutrient solution without significant decline in fruit yield.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of aging on B-cell function and replication in rat pancreas after 90% pancreatectomy.
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that the effect of reducing islet mass is much greater in aged rats than in young rats and that the replicatory capacity of B cells tends to diminish after adulthood has been reached.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lack of effect of CS-045, a new antidiabetic agent, on insulin secretion in the remnant pancreas after 90% pancreatectomy in rats
Yasushi Inoue,Keiichiro Tanigawa,Seiji Nakamura,Gang Xu,Mikiko Kawaguchi,Yuzuru Kato,Katsuhiro Tamura +6 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that the hypoglycemic effect of CS-045, which is not mediated by insulin secretion from the residual pancreas, prevents destruction of the islet.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of Potassium (K) Content in Strawberry Fruits through KNO3 Management of Hydroponics
Md. Fuad Mondal,Md. Fuad Mondal,Md. Fuad Mondal,Md. Asaduzzaman,Makoto Ueno,Mikiko Kawaguchi,Shozo Yano,Takuya Ban,Hideyuki Tanaka,Toshiki Asao +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences at Tottori University in Tokyo, Japan, Matsue 690-1102, Japan and the University of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Fuchu 183-8509, Japan.
