Journal ArticleDOI
Diet composition of the seahorses, Hippocampus guttulatus Cuvier, 1829 and Hippocampus hippocampus (L., 1758) (Teleostei, Syngnathidae) in the Aegean Sea
TL;DR: In H. guttulatus, stomach fullness percentages and vacuity coefficient values indicated that female individuals seem to have a higher feeding activity in relation to males, and ANOSIM analyses indicated statistically significant differences in the diet of the two species.
Journal Article
The echinoderm (Deuterostomia) fauna of the Aegean Sea, and comparison with those of the neighbouring seas
TL;DR: The ophiuroid Amphiura (Acrocnida) brachiata is recorded for the first time in the Aegean Sea as discussed by the authors, and the echinoids Arbaciella elegans, Echinus melo and Hemiaster expergitus are recorded in the Eastern Mediterranean; the latter has previously been known only from the Western Mediterranean.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composition of the organismic assemblage associated with Caretta caretta
Miltiadis-Spyridon Kitsos,Magdalini Christodoulou,Christos Arvanitidis,M. Mavidis,Ioannis Kirmitzoglou,Athanasios Koukouras +5 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the epibiont species distribution on six loggerhead turtles gave some evidence regarding the settlement preferences of certain epibions, and a total of 63 macrobenthic species and 17 species of macroalgae were identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Notes on the vertical distribution of pelagic shrimps (decapoda, natantia) in the aegean sea
TL;DR: Sampling in the northern Aegean Sea, in depths of 250-1000 m revealed the presence of eight species of pelagic shrimps and gave information on the vertical distribution patterns for some of them.
