Journal ArticleDOI
Environmental and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in sediments of Nador lagoon, Morocco
TL;DR: In this article, heavy metal assessment in Nador lagoon (Mediterranean coast) was carried out using different environmental indices and compared with consensus-based sediment quality guidelines, showing that heavy metals occur in lagoon sediments largely due to the anthropogenic activities in the area.
Journal ArticleDOI
The evaluation of solar farm locations applying Geographic Information System and Multi-Criteria Decision-Making methods: Case study in southern Morocco
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the outcome of combining both Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and the Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) method to assess the suitability of a certain set of locations to carry out a renewable energy project.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heavy metal concentrations in marine molluscs from the Moroccan coastal region
TL;DR: Statistical analysis indicated that different species showed different bioaccumulation of metals depending on study site and season, and the relationships between metal concentration and season in each species showed very similar annual profiles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessing, quantifying and valuing the ecosystem services of coastal lagoons

Brookes,Ramunas Povilanskas,Valeriy Khokhlov +37 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assessed, quantified and valued the ecosystem services of 32 coastal lagoons and found that the definitions of ecosystem services are still not generally accepted, and the quantification of ecosystem service is made in many different ways, using different units.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of heavy metals in the Sidi Moussa lagoon sediments (Atlantic Moroccan Coast)
TL;DR: In this paper, the superficial and cored sediments of the Sidi Moussa lagoon (Atlantic Moroccan coast) have been analyzed in order to determine their main characteristics and their heavy metals contents.
