Journal ArticleDOI
Modulation of immune parameters and antioxidant defense in zebrafish (Danio rerio) using dietary apple cider vinegar
Ehsan Ahmadifar,Mahmoud A.O. Dawood,Mohsen Shahriari Moghadam,Najmeh Sheikhzadeh,Seyed Hossein Hoseinifar,Mohamed Saiyad Musthafa +5 more
TL;DR: No effects were observed on the growth performance and survival rates of fish fed ACV, and significantly higher complement titer and alkaline phosphatase activity in fish fed 3 and 4.5% ACV were observed in comparison with the control group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of elephant's foot (Elephantopus scaber) extract on growth performance, immune response, and disease resistance of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings
Hien Van Doan,Seyed Hossein Hoseinifar,Korawan Sringarm,Sanchai Jaturasitha,Trisadee Khamlor,Mahmoud A.O. Dawood,María Ángeles Esteban,Mehdi Soltani,Mohamed Saiyad Musthafa +8 more
TL;DR: Supplementation of ESE (5 g kg-1) enhanced the humoral and mucosal immunity, promoted growth performance, and improved disease resistance of Nile tilapia against Streptococcus agalactiae.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective efficacy of Mucuna pruriens (L.) seed meal enriched diet on growth performance, innate immunity, and disease resistance in Oreochromis mossambicus against Aeromonas hydrophila.
Mohamed Saiyad Musthafa,Syed Mohideen Asgari,Amitha Kurian,Preetham Elumalai,Abdul Rahman Jawahar Ali,Bilal Ahmad Paray,Mohammad K. Al-Sadoon +6 more
TL;DR: The present investigation suggests that the enriched diet at 4 g kg−1 and 6 g−1 improved the growth performance more than that of the control and negative control; it also positively enhanced the innate immunity and disease resistance against A. hydrophilla in O. mossambicus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective efficacy of Azomite enriched diet in Oreochromis mossambicus against Aeromonas hydrophila
Mohamed Saiyad Musthafa,Abdul Rahman Jawahar Ali,Mohamed Jamal Mohamed,Mohamed Madhani Abdul Jaleel,Meenatchi Sundaram Arun Kumar,Kuppusamy Umaa Rani,Krishnan Vasanth,Jesu Arockiaraj,Elumalai Preetham,Chellam Balasundaram,Ramasamy Harikrishnan +10 more
TL;DR: The present results suggest that Azomite enriched diet at 4 g-kg − 1 and 6 g kg −-1 positively enhance the innate immunity and disease resistance in O. mossambicus against A. hydrophila.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of alkoxy glycerol on growth performance, immune response and disease resistance in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).
TL;DR: Fish oil and their compounds derived from the same have immense applications in the improvement of health, brain development, enhancing immunity etc, and supplementation of such a compound alkoxy glycerol derived from shark liver oil in fish diet is aimed at.
