Cholestasis-associated reproductive toxicity in male and female rats: The fundamental role of mitochondrial impairment and oxidative stress.
Mohammad Mehdi Ommati,Omid Farshad,Hossein Niknahad,Mohammad Reza Arabnezhad,Negar Azarpira,Hamid Mohammadi,Maral Haghnegahdar,Khadijeh Mousavi,Shiva Akrami,Akram Jamshidzadeh,Reza Heidari +10 more
TL;DR: Evaluated pathologic effects of cholestasis-associated reproductive toxicity in male and female rats is restrictedly coupled with severe oxidative stress and mitochondrial impairment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Boldine Supplementation Regulates Mitochondrial Function and Oxidative Stress in a Rat Model of Hepatotoxicity
Reza Heidari,Mohammad Reza Arabnezhad,Mohammad Mehdi Ommati,Negar Azarpira,Elham Ghodsimanesh,Hossein Niknahad +5 more
TL;DR: It was found that boldine supplementation mitigated liver tissue markers of oxidative stress and improved mitochondrial indices of functionality in TAA-treated animals, suggesting that the hepatoprotective properties of boldine might primarily rely on antioxidant and mitochondria protecting effects of this alkaloid.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of Mitochondrial Impairment and Oxidative Stress in the Pathogenesis of Lithium-Induced Reproductive Toxicity in Male Mice
Mohammad Mehdi Ommati,Mohammad Reza Arabnezhad,Omid Farshad,Akram Jamshidzadeh,Hossein Niknahad,Socorro Retana-Márquez,Zhipeng Jia,Mohammad Hassan Nateghahmadi,Khadijeh Mousavi,Aysooda Arazi,Mohammad Reza Azmoon,Negar Azarpira,Reza Heidari +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors illustrate the mechanisms of adverse effects of Li+ on the testis tissue, spermatogenesis process, and hormonal changes in two experimental models, where mice were treated with Li+ (0, 10, 50, and 100 ppm, in drinking water) for five consecutive weeks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aloe vera and Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes Mellitus
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of Aloe vera prescription on streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus was reviewed to provide a clear insight into the role of this medicinal plant in several biological functions, such as antioxidant, wound healing, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycemic, and antihyperlipidemic in diabetic models.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Effects of Astaxanthin on Proliferation and Differentiation of MG-63 Osteosarcoma Cells via Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) Pathway: A Comparison with AhR Endogenous Ligand.
Nima Montazeri-Najafabady,Mohammad Hossein Dabbaghmanesh,Nazanin Chatrabnous,Mohammad Reza Arabnezhad +3 more
TL;DR: It seems that AST can augment the proliferation and differentiation of MG-63 via the AhR-dependent pathway, while FICZ suppresses the proliferationand differentiation ofMG-63 cells.
