Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrafast Acoustofluidic Exfoliation of Stratified Crystals.
Heba Ahmed,Amgad R. Rezk,Benjamin J. Carey,Yichao Wang,Mohiuddin,Kyle J. Berean,Salvy P. Russo,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh,Leslie Y. Yeo +8 more
TL;DR: An ultrafast multiscale exfoliation method is reported which exploits the piezoelectricity of stratified materials that are noncentrosymmetric in nature to trigger electrically-induced mechanical failure across weak grain boundaries associated with their crystal domain planes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Green Synthesis of Low-Dimensional Aluminum Oxide Hydroxide and Oxide Using Liquid Metal Reaction Media: Ultrahigh Flux Membranes
Ali Zavabeti,Bao Yue Zhang,Isabela Alves de Castro,Jian Zhen Ou,Benjamin J. Carey,Benjamin J. Carey,Mohiuddin,Robi S. Datta,Chenglong Xu,Adrian P. Mouritz,Christopher F McConville,Anthony P. O'Mullane,Torben Daeneke,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of atomically thin sheets and nanofibers of boehmite (γ-AlOOH) and their transformation into cubic alumina via annealing is explored.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibacterial Liquid Metals: Biofilm Treatment via Magnetic Activation
Aaron Elbourne,Samuel Cheeseman,Paul Atkin,Paul Atkin,Nghia P. Truong,Nitu Syed,Ali Zavabeti,Mohiuddin,Dorna Esrafilzadeh,Dorna Esrafilzadeh,Daniel Cozzolino,Christopher F McConville,Michael D. Dickey,Russell J. Crawford,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh,James Chapman,Torben Daeneke,Vi Khanh Truong +17 more
TL;DR: This study provides a proof-of-concept investigation into the use of magneto-responsive gallium-based liquid metal droplets as antibacterial materials, which can physically damage, disintegrate, and kill pathogens within a mature biofilm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flexible two-dimensional indium tin oxide fabricated using a liquid metal printing technique
Robi S. Datta,Nitu Syed,Ali Zavabeti,Azmira Jannat,Mohiuddin,Rokunuzzaman,Bao Yue Zhang,Ataur Rahman,Paul Atkin,Kibret A Messalea,Mohammad B. Ghasemian,Enrico Della Gaspera,Semonti Bhattacharyya,Michael S. Fuhrer,Salvy P. Russo,Christopher F McConville,Dorna Esrafilzadeh,Dorna Esrafilzadeh,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh,Torben Daeneke +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, a liquid metal printing technique was used to create monolayer and bilayer indium tin oxide, with the bilayer samples offering a transparency above 99.3% and a sheet resistance as low as 5.4
Journal ArticleDOI
Interface chemistry of two-dimensional heterostructures – fundamentals to applications
Sharafadeen Gbadamasi,Mohiuddin,Vaishnavi Krishnamurthi,Rajni Verma,Rajni Verma,Muhammad Waqas Khan,Muhammad Waqas Khan,Saurabh Pathak,Saurabh Pathak,Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh,Nasir Mahmood +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a review of the recent progress in the field of 2D HSs with a focus on the discussion of the fundamentals and the chemistry of heterointerfaces based on van der Waals (vdW) and covalent interactions.
