Permeate flux decline during UF of oily wastewater: Experimental and modeling

TL;DR: The results of an experimental study on separation of oil from oily wastewaters are presented in this article, where a polyacrylonitrile (PAN, 20 kDa) membrane was employed as the ultrafiltration membrane and an outlet wastewater of API unit of Tehran refinery were employed and the interaction effects of different operating parameters such as transmembrane pressure (TMP), cross-flow velocity (CFV), temperature and pH on permeate flux and fouling resistance were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance study of mullite and mullite-alumina ceramic MF membranes for oily wastewaters treatment.

TL;DR: In this article, results of an experimental study on separation of oil from actual and synthetic oily wastewaters with mullite and mullite-alumina tubular ceramic membranes are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption behavior of Cu(II) and Co(II) using chemically modified marine algae.

TL;DR: In this paper, brown algae-modified biomass Padina sanctae crucis was used for copper (Cu(II)) and cobalt (Co(II) heavy metal ions adsorption in synthetic wastewater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dimensional analysis of permeation flux for microfiltration of oily wastewaters using mullite ceramic membranes

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of milling with mullite ceramic membranes was investigated in the presence of condensate gas in water emulsions, and three dimensionless numbers were definded as shear stress, resistance and Reynolds numbers.
