Biological screening of 100 plant extracts for cosmetic use (II): anti-oxidative activity and free radical scavenging activity
TL;DR: The results suggest that 14 plants may be potential sources of anti‐oxidative activity using Fenton's reagent/ethyl linoleate system and for free radical scavenging activity using the 1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picryl hydrazyl free radical generating system.

Biological screening of 100 plant extracts for cosmetic use (1) Antioxidative activity and free radical scavenging activity
Jeong-Ha Kim,Beom-Jun Kim,Chung-Hyun Seok,Il Won,Jeong-Haeng Kim,Hyun-Pyo Kim,Moon Young Heo +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results suggest that at least six plants including Eugenia caryophyllata, Alpinia offiicinarum, Rhus verniciflua, Curcuma longa, Rheum palmatvm and Evodia officinalis may be the potential sources of antioxidant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biological screening of 100 plant extracts for cosmetic use (I): inhibitory activities of tyrosinase and DOPA auto-oxidation.
TL;DR: Plant extracts including Bupleurum falcatum, Caragana sinica, Morus alba and Tussilago farfara showed inhibition of DOPA auto‐oxidation activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of TPA-induced cyclooxygenase-2 expression and skin inflammation in mice by wogonin, a plant flavone from Scutellaria radix
TL;DR: Inhibition by wogonin of 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA)-induced cyclooxygenase-2 expression and anti-inflammatory activity in vivo were investigated and it was found that the same compound significantly inhibited mouse ear edema induced by TPA in both preventive as well as curative treatment schedules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant and antigenotoxic activities of Korean fermented soybean.
TL;DR: Results indicate that CKJ extract may be a useful antigenotoxic antioxidant by scavenging free radicals, inhibiting lipid peroxidation and protecting against oxidative DNA damage.
