Characterization Of A Novel Hydrolytic Enzyme Producing Thermophilic Bacterium Isolated From The Hot Spring Of Azad Kashmir-Pakistan

TL;DR: A thermophilic bacterium (TP-2) was isolated from the Tatta Pani hot spring in Azad Kashmir and was characterized using phenotypic and genotypic characters and Sequence analysis of its 16S rRNA gene showed that isolate TP-2 had 89% homology with Geobacillus debilis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial fuel cells as an alternative energy source: current status

TL;DR: Many limitations and challenges exist for MFC development that needs to be further addressed to make them economically feasible for general use, including continued improvements in fuel cell design and efficiency as well scale-up with economically practical applications tailored to local needs.

Solid state culturing of thermophilic fungi for phytase production

TL;DR: Seven different types of themophilic fungi such as Aspergillus fumigatus, Humicola insolens, Rhizomucor miehei-I& II, Sporotrichum thermophile, Thermomyces lanuginosus-I & II were isolated from the compost of various localities and among all isolates, Sporson thermophile was found to be the best isolate for the phytase production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Constipation in pregnancy: causes and remedies

TL;DR: Diet rich in fiber and increased fluid intake is recommended to improve defecation, and the use of laxatives and probiotics is reported to alleviate constipation, though the safety and efficacy of laxative and probiotic use on the mother and fetus need to be established.
Journal Article

Comparative analysis of highly conserved ZFX gene sequences of Pakistani river buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) with other bovids.

TL;DR: The sequence alignment revealed that buffalo’s ZFX exon 5 gene was homogenous to that of Bos taurus and Ovis aries with 99% homology, and the ZFX gene is highly conserved in bovine species.
