Experimental investigation of wake effects on wind turbine performance

TL;DR: In this paper, the wake interference effect on the performance of a downstream wind turbine was investigated experimentally and the effects of these parameters on the total power output from the turbines were also estimated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar energy applications and development in Nigeria: Drivers and barriers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined and discussed the current perspectives of solar energy utilization as a renewable energy option in Nigeria from the standpoint of sustainable development and suggested steps and policy measures to overcome the barriers and facilitates the utilization of this resource.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of decentralized hybrid PV solar-diesel power system for applications in Northern part of Nigeria

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the possibility of using hybrid energy system for electricity generation in rural and semi-urban areas in the Northern part of Nigeria and found that PV/Generator/Battery hybrid system is economically the most suitable option as a stand-alone electricity generating system in this location and other similar locations in Nigeria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of hybrid energy systems for application in southern Ghana

TL;DR: In this paper, an economic analysis of the feasibility of utilizing a hybrid energy system consisting of solar, wind and diesel generators for application in remote areas of southern Ghana using levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and net present cost of the system was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preliminary assessment of a small-scale rooftop PV-grid tied in Norwegian climatic conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the performance assessment of grid-connected PV system installed on the roof of a building was presented, and the results indicated that PV-connected system is technically feasible for electricity generation in Norway and could play role in the future energy mix of the country.
